for the O'Brien Residence ~
We will be Pre-Building
the Log Roof
System &
"Great Room Look Out" for the O'Brien Residence.
This Log Roof System is
somewhat of a complicated project.....with multi roof
pitches and dormer valleys.
We will Pre-Build
the entire Log Roof Superstructure here at our Log Yard....
then, disassemble, number
and ship the completed Log Roof System Components to the job site.
This will include all the Log Floor Joist for the 2nd
floor... Log Trusses, Dormer Trusses, Log Support Columns,
Log Roof Purlins and all Layouts. The Roof System will
take up a area of 44'x 48' and rise to 24' high above the
1st floor. The Home will have a Amazing "Great Room Look Out
Area" with multi Glass Units that will take your
breath away....
In
short.... This will be one Awesome Log Roof System...
So enjoy the Tour!!

Here you will see the
Log Floor Joist - Log Supports - and Logs for the Log
Trusses ready to be cut....

After the cutting
and final peeling process is completed, then the Pre-Build
stage of the this Home will begin....
Next the Cutting and
Flare Notching Begins........
With the Home being 48
foot wide...there is a 30 foot center support Log Beam plus
a 18 foot extended Log Beam that runs the center length of the
Home. The two Log Center Beams will support the entire Log
Floor Joist system and final floor material.

The Log
Floor Joist will be placed 48"oc and are ~End Flared~
and cut flat on the top to a 3/4 Log to accept the final flooring.
The
Pre-Built Roof System Phase Begins.....
First we must establish
a "Temporary Top Plate" this will represent the
top of the Actual Home's perimeter measurements.
With this is place we can start the Pre-Build Phase (as if
we where at the job site building the roof in place).
Later when this Pre-Build Phase is completed the entire Log
Roof System will be disassemble, numbered
and shiped to the job site.
Special
Notes:
One of the wonderful things about having us Pre-Build your Log Home or Roof
System is that at the same time you or your contractor are doing the roadwork, excavation, utilities, foundation and sub-floor, we are Pre-Building your
Home or Roof System here at
our Log Yard. The actual
concrete foundation work has already started for the
O'Brien's Home at the site..... when this phase is completed
and delivered, this will save them
considerable on site construction time and reduced their
move in time.
